Woodsman Stove Tile
The Woodsman tile is a replica of an original tile made by Artist Arthur Osborne of the J. & J.G. Low Art Tile Works during the Victorian era. Porcelain tile measures 4 7/8" x 8" and has a hook in the back for hanging.
Stove tiles were originally made as decoration for parlor stoves popular during the mid to late 1800’s. Vesele Studio replicas were hand carved by ceramicist, Mary Veselenak, to resemble a damaged original or because too few were in existence to complete a stove restoration. Molds made from the carved relief tiles are used to produce the replicas available here. These ornate tiles can be used decoratively or installed in antique parlor stoves to complete its original look.
